QuickAccess is the go-to option for most users. A single click triggers a sequential read/write test alongside a random access speed test using 4 KB blocks across 32 concurrent threads. You can queue multiple drives and let Parkdale test them one by one, automatically logging the results for easy side-by-side comparison. Holding the Ctrl key skips the random access phase if you just need the sequential numbers fast.

FileAccess writes and reads test data through the operating system's standard file system layer. This mode most closely reflects real-world application performance — what you would actually experience when copying files or loading large projects.

BlockAccess goes deeper, reading and writing directly to raw disk sectors, bypassing the file system entirely. A live transfer-rate graph updates as the test runs, giving you a visual feel for consistency and any speed fluctuations across the surface of the drive.

Interface and Usability

Parkdale's interface is clean and functional. There are no dashboards cluttered with marketing graphics or upsell prompts — just the controls you need and the results you are looking for. The program starts instantly and consumes minimal system resources, which matters when you want to isolate disk performance without background processes skewing your numbers.

The software supports six languages — English, French, German, Greek, Italian, and Russian — reflecting its genuinely international user base. It also ships with several command-line options, and a dedicated command-line binary ParkdaleCmd.exe is available separately for scripting and automation scenarios, accepting parameters for drive selection, file size, block size, and log output.
